Carplay2Droid is pretty much compatible with all vehicles that have Carplay factory installed.

You can check out the compatibility list here:

https://carbotics.net/compatibility/

NOTE: Wireless Carplay is currently not supported. This means that many BMW models are not supported. If you have a BMW, list the model number here and we'll confirm if it is compatible with our programmers.

Thanks!

Ho una bmw x2 (f39) del 2018 con wireless carplay integrato, questo carbotics funziona nella mia macchina?

Ciao, la tua autoradio deve avere Carplay cablato per poter usare CarBotics. Grazie!

Hello,

Needed to find out if this would be compatible with Joying aftermarket head units that have Android Auto and if they have their own bluetooth that can be connected to headlights/air ride/etc. since Joying units do not allow anything but a phone and their own accessories?  I am specifically looking to run Ridetech's app to connect with bluetooth to the head unit through this unit.  I was lead to believe it was possible with the Car Dongle but that has not worked, would really like to find a tested and true solution ASAP.  So any help would be appreciated

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike, welcome aboard.

To answer your questions (as far as I can do without having a Joying unit at hand): For me Bluetooth connected to my OBD2 dongle (Carista: running Torque, Carista app and Race Control) and to my power box (DTE Power Control) without a problem. I assume that you can connect to any Bluetooth hardware which can be connected to your phone.

Regarding Joying: Can't test that but I'm quite sure it works with any compatible aftermarket unit (like my Xtrons unit in a Sprinter). Maybe @Donny has some more information about that. Anyway, CarBotics even works with my PC (see other thread) , chance is high to get all your "gadgets" to work.

Bye for now  Fred

Thank you, somehow I joined 11 months ago?  I am sorry to be skeptical but was told the same thing with the Car Dongle which now is a very expensive paper weight for me.  The other issue I am seeing is that I would like to get the Carplay2droid non 4g version, but can't seem to find that?  In the vehicle I am looking to use it in first it has 2 headunits so only looking to run navigation that I will download maps to it and 2 apps to control heaadlights and air ride through bluetooth.  If I can get that to work I am looking to get a second one for another vehicle that will be the primary unit, on both was wondering if it can be put on top of the dashboard to get a better GPS signal?

@admin

I would like that depending on price and availability time frame, what about being able to leave it on the dashboard for reception?

Hi Mike, leaving CarBotics on the dashboard is no problem in Winter times. As with any electronic gadget in Summer the temperatures will raise beyond 70°C in direct sunlight and you have to put them down into the shadows. My CarBotics is fixed with Velcro, so it's easy to relocate (see photo).

Bye for now  Fred

@ap756

Thanks I don't drive these cars is the winter, but wanted to get the best gps signal while also being more hidden since this is my current setup and tends to draw attention when at shows

Mike, for the next two weeks there is Chinese New Year (therefore holidays) and as you know I'm just a volunteer and have no idea about delivery of the non-4G version. If you're in a hurry you have to look for another solution or wait for some officials for an answer. Sorry, that I can't give you a better answer.

Bye for now  Fred

I appreciate the response, not in a huge rush.  Just was hoping that it said it would be shipping this month and the end of this month is here so figured they would be going out soon

@mclellan83 we've added 2 units. Please order now as there is a 10 day period before we can ship (IGG rules).
