hello,
I’ve just received my Carbotics unit and I’m trying to enable android auto wireless using zlink.
I've tried with a couple of phones (xiaomi mi9t and huawei mate 20 pro) but with both of them zlink remains stuck at “connecting, please wait”.
In the video reviews I’ve seen that the previous firmware was using speedplay to connect AA wireless. Is there any apk available to test if the issue is the zlink build?
Snoze88, sorry for the late reply - had to reflash my Carbotics for trying to reproduce the error you reported.
It's not the zLink5 build. There is a problem with your connection. zLink tries to connect and can't find your phone(s).
To prove this I reflashed my Carbotics and took some screenshots.Maybe you'll see what is missing.
Carbotics Version: APM888-EAU-01 2022-02-16
After starting zLink5 third picture will show. If your phone is already connected with Bluetooth just press the blue button (left button in the lower right corner) and wait for a couple of seconds, the connection will establish. If you see a black screen for longer than a minute press the button on the lower left corner of the screen and you'll see the navigation. If ther is no button, please check the connection of your phone. Good luck
Bye for now Fred
Hi Fred,
thanks for the reply.
I've sorted out the issue enabling android auto wireless in the AA settings. Both the phones has got Android 10 roms, so i don't know if AA wireless is enabled by default only from Android 11.
Now i must try to figure out how to handle the internet connection: since AA wireless connects the phone to carbotics hotspot, i'm loosing any connectionon my cellphone (hence almost none of the features of AA works)
I think using a second SIM card inserted in Carbotics will sort your problem (I've got two SIM cards with the same phone number, ask your provider). This way Carbotics can establish the Internet connection distributing to the rest of your car via hotspot.
The other way is to start the hotspot on your mobile and connect your Carbotics WIFI manually to this hotspot. Hope this helps and thanks for your feedback.
Bye for now Fred
